Artist Blacksmith

Circulated since 1979, Artist Blacksmith (formerly British Blacksmith) is the quarterly publication of the British Artist Blacksmiths Association (BABA). Over 174 issues spanning nearly 50 years, the magazine captures and catalogues the field of contemporary Artist Blacksmithing in the UK. Revered within the field of blacksmithing across Britain and the wider world, Artist Blacksmith is an invaluable resource for information and inspiration; showcasing the most exciting and progressive forged metalwork as well as a host of tips and tricks, book reviews, comment, details of national and international blacksmithing events, and the latest news from the field.

For nearly 50 years, BABA has developed and promoted the work of the modern Artist Blacksmith; uniting thousands of professional and amateur smiths (and other interested parties) across Britain and the rest of the world in a spirit of friendship and collaboration, in order to learn about, enjoy and advance the extraordinary craft of creative blacksmithing. One of the key member benefits of BABA is a print subscription to its quarterly publication, Artist Blacksmith - membership is available via baba.org.uk. For the first time, Artist Blacksmith is now going digital with institutional subscriptions being offered and a fully-searchable digital archive being available to all BABA members.
