Latest Issue

In COVER 56, we anticipate a new season of international design events, with previews of London Design Week, The Rug Show New York, High Point, Maison et Objet Paris and Decorex International. The issue focuses on the best new designs that will be emerging from these important shows, from the likes of Wool & Silk Rugs, Tamarian, Knots Rugs, Floor Story and Amadi Carpets.

In the features section, Fort Street Studio's Progetto Passione Collection impresses us for its fine artistry and ambition. We speak to Janis Provisor and Brad Davis about how the art rug project developed and about their 25 years in the industry. Another project with creative vision comes in the form of Rug Star's latest Intimacy campaign in Chicago with Oscar Isberian. Jürgen Dahlmanns discusses his ideas about how companies could be marketing rugs in the future while Joseph Carini shares his knowledge about dyeing in a new section called The Expert. Other highlights include a report on art rugs by BravinLee, Knot Collective's new Unwasted Collection made of plastic bottles, Charles Pavarini III's latest designs for Samad and the revival of French brand Maison Leleu.

Interior designers Michael S Smith and Drew McGukin give us the lowdown on their personal interior style, while we take a look at rug design for staircases. In a report on US rug retailers Kate Consiglio and Wayne Consiglio, who head the rug division at Holland & Sherry, and Joannah Kornak, Senior Vice President, Executive Creative Director, at Holly Hunt, offer insight into the brands and trends in the industry. Don't miss our trend reports on outdoor rugs and the work of new graduates, the latest news from Domotex Hannover, our reviews of exhibitions 'Weaving Beyond the Bauhaus' at the Chicago Institute of Art and 'Weavers of the Clouds: Textile Arts of Peru' at the Fashion & Textile Museum London plus all our regular sections such as Hotlist and the COVER calendar.
