Resurgence & Ecologist magazine has been at the forefront of environmental reportage for over half a century. A multi-disciplinary resource, Resurgence & Ecologist explores the most pressing issues of the time through the lens of politics, economics and philosophy as well as social justice, ecology, sociology, sustainability and the arts. Providing diverse, inclusive and global views, its 50+ year archive offers both a retrospective and contemporary analysis of current affairs.

Remaining true to its roots as one of first and leading exponents of systems theory,  Resurgence & Ecologist seeks to point out the links between issues as diverse as the climate crisis, war, pharmaceuticals, corporate fraud, globalisation, nuclear power, intensive farming, pollution and the power of mass media. Ahead of its time, this pioneering publication played a leading role in diagnosing the environmental crises that have become all too apparent today.

Resurgence & Ecologist brings together a broad range of acclaimed writers such as Vandana Shiva, Noam Chomsky, Bill Mckibben, Mya-Rose Craig, E.F. Schumacher, Caroline Lucas, James Lovelock, Louisa Adjoa Parker, Robert McFarlane, George Monbiot and Winona Laduke

In a world of political turbulence, social unrest and environmental challenges Resurgence & Ecologist is an invaluable resource for any institutional library.

Nature, our teacher
Issue 346 • September/October 2024

In this issue we explore the myriad ways we are learning from Nature, and how much we still have to discover.

Stephanie Boxall asks whether the built environment can ever be seen as part of Nature, in her article ‘Building a relationship with Nature’. Opening our theme, leadership development facilitator Nicki Davey shares how Nature and its teachings have become firmly embedded in her offerings to clients.

Also in this issue, Fritjof Capra shows how life is beautifully organised in networks and Satish Kumar emphasises the power of positivity and why it’s important to stay optimistic. In our Arts & Culture section, Louis Barnard interviews Britart superstar Marc Quinn, who challenges us to see Nature as an ally and whose plant-inspired sculptures are on show in his new exhibition at Kew Gardens.
