African Banker, launched in May 2007, is a quarterly magazine dedicated to banking and finance in Africa. It covers news from the banking, finance, insurance, currency, direct and indirect financial investment sectors, as well as the stock markets and capital markets.

It taps into the growing demand for information about Africa’s banking and financial world, a sector which is consolidating rapidly and reshaping the future of the economy of the continent.

African Banker  magazine Q2 2025 (out now) is a bumper issue in which some of Africa’s top bankers as well as our highly reputed columnist discuss the most critical issues confronting African economies in today’s volatile world. Among other topics, we explore how to deal with Trump tariff tantrums, what cyber currency is all about and wonder if China’s CIPS can rival Swift.

African Banker magazine is all about interfacing with the continent’s top bankers through incisive interviews: The Q2 25 issue is no exception with a host of one-on-ones with the likes of: EBID’s Dr George Agyekum Donkor (who graces our cover); ATIDI’sManuel Moses; FAGACE’s Dr. Ngueto Tiraïna Yambaye;UBA’s Oliver Alawuba; Djibouti C Bank’s Ahmed Osman Ali and Dr Sidi Ould Tah who is leaving Badea and making a tilt at AfDB leadership.

We review last year’s African Banker Awards and look forward to this year’s ceremony in Cote d’Ivoire. Plus we have a full complement of Op-eds from bankers around the continent and our usual country focus articles.
