Jazznytt is Norway’s only magazine dedicated to jazz. Founded in 1960, its quarterly issues provide an essential resource for anyone interested in this music. Jazznytt celebrates jazz as an open and diverse art form, and traces its connections with contemporary music, pop and folk music as well as its roots in a strong tradition. Every issue contains a dynamic mix of interviews, essays, features, record and book reviews, regular columns such as ‘Blindfold Test’ and ‘Hidden Treasures’, as well as photography and illustration that pictures the past, present and future of jazz. Norwegian and Nordic artists are the main focus, but there is of course space for coverage of important international currents too.

Jazznytt is an arena for lively writing on music and the culture surrounding it, and our contributor list contains some of the finest music writers in Norway, Scandinavia and the world, both young and old. It is published in Norwegian. The editor since 2014 is Rob Young, formerly of The Wire magazine, who currently lives in Oslo. Published by the ODIN Foundation (in Norwegian).

Jazznytt er norges eneste blad og tidsskrift om jazz. Det ble grunnlagt i 1960, og med sine fire årlige utgaver er det en nødvendig ressurs for alle som er interessert i denne musikken. Jazznytt feirer jazz som en åpen og allsidig kunstform, og følger dens forgreininger til samtidsmusikk, pop og folkemusikk i tillegg til dens tradisjonsrøtter. Hver utgave inneholder en dynamisk miks av intervjuer, essays, featureartikler, plate- og bokanmeldelser, faste spalter, fotografier og illustrasjoner som fortolker jazzens nåtid, fortid og fremtid. Norske og nordiske artister er i fokus, men det er selvfølgelig rom for viktige internajonale strømninger også.

På bidragsyterlisten finner vi flere av de beste og mest respekterte jazzskribentene, unge som eldre, fra inn- og utland. Jazznytt skal også være en arena for gode penner. Redaktør siden 2014 er Rob Young. Utgiver av bladet er Stiftelsen ODIN.
