Latest Issue:
Blocks is going deep into LEGO Fabuland in Issue 125 of the monthly LEGO magazine for adult fans. Whether you remember the sets from childhood or have never seen them before, you’ll get a taste of how these charming models were part of a whole world of anthropomorphic animals. Recently discovered documents from the 1970s reveal how purposeful the LEGO Group was in developing a story-driven theme.
Master Builder Stuart Harris and Senior Model Designer Markus Rollbühler reveal how they designed the LEGO House exclusive set that pays tribute to the classic theme. The feature is illustrated with sketch models, development versions of the set and sketch concepts for the sticker. It’s an incredibly thorough exploration of how a LEGO set comes to be.
The Minifigure Story concludes this month, revealing how the characters were given their unique legs. It’s a design that has stood the test of the time, as the tiny LEGO people are now 47 years old! If you follow the story though Issues 122, 123, 124 and 125, you will have the most detailed explanation ever published of how the designers developed the minifigure.
If you love popping your minifigures into race cars, then you should definitely check out this month’s City reviews – you might have assumed Speed Champions is the place to go for Formula 1 sets, but the everyday theme has some surprises to offer. There are also reviews of sets from Star Wars, Marvel, DC and Disney.
In a deep dive interview, Hoàng Huy Đặng explains how he went from car design in the USA, to scooter design in Vietnam to LEGO model design in Billund, Denmark. He talks about working on his first ever model, LEGO Icons 10334 Retro Radio.
For those who can’t read about LEGO building without getting the urge to put some bricks together, there are instructions for a mini version of 76453 Malfoy Manor from Harry Potter, a modern recreation of Blacktron 1875 Meteor Monitor and a Grazer from the Horizon video games.
This edition of the 116-page magazine also features a debate about tech in LEGO sets, whether you should invest in 10355 Blacktron Renegade, the best British LEGO sets and much, much more.
